DAY 01: ARRIVE – AMRITSAR Today morning you will have a departure transfer from the hotel to the New Delhi Airport for the flight to Amritsar. Upon arrival at Amritsar meet and greet then transfer you to the hotel to have some rest. And in the afternoon visit Indo-Pak Wagah Border to watch the Flag Retreat Ceremony - Wagah, an army outpost on the Indo-Pak border 30 Kms from Amritsar where the daily highlight is the evening "Beating the Retreat" ceremony. Soldiers from both countries march in perfect drills, going through the steps of bringing down their respective national flags. As the sun goes down, nationalistic fervor rises, and lights are switched on marking the end of the day amidst thunderous applause. After the beating retreat ceremony return to the hotel and stay overnight in Amritsar. DAY 02: AMRITSAR – DEPARTURE After breakfast, start your city tour with the blessings of the Golden Temple - the most important Sikh shrine which is also called Mecca for the Sikhs and is a living symbol of the spiritual and historical traditions of the Sikhs. Then visit Jallianwala Bagh- where, on April 13, 1919, British and Gurkha soldiers opened fire on an unarmed forbidden gathering, killing hundreds of civilians. After lunch visit Maharaja Ranjit Singh Summer Palace Museum - The summer palace of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, which is situated in the heart of Ram Bagh, Amritsar. Later in the afternoon transfer you to the Amritsar Airport to board the flight to onward destinations.
